5 Gallon Tank.

I'm new to this and I've started a 5 Gallon Nano I guess.
Specs:
6 lbs of Live Rock
Penguin Mini BIO-Wheel Power Filter
2 x 15 watt Flourescent Tubes
Marine Sand
Thermometer
I also have a Marine Lab Test Kit made by Red Sea
I added a Raw Shrimp in the tank about 3 days ago. I did tests and the results came out as this.
Results:
Alkalinity = High
Ammonia = 5.0
pH = 8.4
Nitrite = 0.1-0.2
Nitrate = High Range - 25 Low Range - 5.0
I removed the Raw Shrimp after I took the test because I noticed it was bloating and smelled. Was this a good choice to remove the shrimp? Is there any problems with my results? If so, how can I improve them? Any other advice would help. Thanks :)

well, ur going through ur cycle, and ur ammonia and nitrites should start to fall soon. once this happens, u can do a small water change, then add a clean up crew.:D

i would wait like another 3 days, then test again, and test about every three days until u get readings such as these
- ph about 8.3
-ammonia 0
-nitrite 0
-nitrate will most likely never be at 0 but some ppl have theres that low. if its a fish only tank, then no higher than 30, if its a reef than it should be at 0.
- specific gravity 1.023, or a salinity of 31
ur levels may still rise a bit over the next few days, then they should start to fall. once they fall and become low, do a 5-10% water change, and then test about 2 days later and if the levels are as said above, its time for a clean up crew:)
