This thread was dug up after 2 1/2 years. I have had a Diamond goby since I asked that question. I would not keep a tank without one now. They do a great job of keeping the sand bed nice and white.

Get rid of the carpet. No really they are cool anemones, but not much you can do about that. All you can do is try and keep it fed well. You could also try a different carpet. Some are more likely to eat fish then others. Although when they get larger most will if given the chance. Got any pics? I love carpets. What color? I wish I would have put one in my tank and let it settle before I stocked it with corals. I still may try one sometime.
