I have a single mushroom for $5 plus shipping if someone wants it. I don't think my lights are strong enough for it. its a purplish reddish greenish color. lol

Before you sell it, what kind of lighting do you have, size tank, and why do you think it's not getting enough light?

I live in Chester VA. I don't think its getting enough light because I don't have metal halides. I have a jebo 4x55. When I got it from my lfs it was under mh's and it was shaped like a horn, now its the size of a dime and has been since I got it last week. I paid 10.00 for it, but would hate to see it die because I can't provide the right lighting yet.

You should have plenty of lighting to keep mushrooms and zoos. Most softies are fine under PC lighting. Try placing it a bit higher and if you aren't already, use an additive to promote the best health possible, like Coral Accel three times a week or Coral Vital after every water change. Keep your calcium levels up. I learned the same way you are, anything under MH will look completely different under PC, and vice versa. This isn't to say you won't get the maximum health out of the coral, it's just that it will take a while to adjust to the lower lighting and schedule. Many of my mushrooms were smaller and not as "umbrella" shaped at first, but after a month they began to swell up and took on a new life. They most likely need time to adjust from the MH. Be patient and see if things look up for it! :)
Oh, P.S. mushrooms often look like a cup or trumpet when feeding. When they're "sun bathing" they'll spread out flat. HTH! h*

For my loose polyps, I cut off the bottom of a 20 oz. water bottle, and place a piece of live rock rubble in it. Place the mushroom in the container and rubberband mesh or similiar material to close the top off, to allow water flow and light to penetrate. It usually takes between a day up to a week for it to attach to the rock. After that, just glue the piece of rubble. I've found it's MUCH easier to glue it this way because the mushroom has all that slime coating. Keep me updated! :)

Just for another opinion, I agree with Kimber.
I have mushrooms that do great with even less light than you have; they could just need more time to "settle in"
or there could be a problem with something else. Post all your water readings and lets see.

everything checked out last night when i checked water. 0 nitrites, 0 ammonia, high range was low and nitrates were mid like always. It fell off the rock again when I got home fom work last night, into a hole in a rock. Now I have to take the rock out and shake it to get it out or something. I'm totally confused. Crazy what a little mushroom can do to make you so frustrated. LOL
