This was supposed to be an update, but it’s more like a confessional. I have 27g Tall reef tank and I basically let it go. It looks like the Black Lagoon.
The BakPak protein skimmer is full of crud in every chamber. The water is yellowish and the lights have not been changed at all in 5 years so it is very weak.
I just have not had the funds to get all the supplies needed. I have not done a water change in over a year. I just top off with tap water. There are 6 fishes in there but 2 died over the last 3 months. I have one Red clown fish with one white stripe that has been with me since 2000.
The good news is that I am trying to get back into it. I just logged on and it has been 444 days since the last time I logged on.
Here are some quick questions. Regarding my JBJ 24in 110 light system. I just bought some replacement bulbs. When I took the old bulbs off, I noticed the vinyl around the wires was cracked off exposing the wire. The light still work. Do I need to wrap electric tape around it or try to go to the hardware store and replace them all together.
There are alot of empty shells on the floor. Should I get rid of them? There are a bunch of little puffy balls on the LR, should I leave it there? I have alot of bristle worms,, is that ok? I can send pictures, but you might ban me from your site.!
