No it wont, but any life you have left in your tank (crabs and such may be shocked if you do it slowly you'll be fine.

What are you tank readings?
ammonia?
trites?
trates?
SG or salinity?
As long as you make sure temp and salinity are the same you will have no problems at all. But the real question is why did your fish die?

Changing water won't, but if you move around rock and disrupt things at the same time while cleaning, that may...

what killed my fish was a product that you add to your water to kick start the cycle (everything spiked). The guy at the LFS said it would be ok to add to an established tank. Im an idiot and hes a {edit language}. Im not testin my water until i do this change, then maybe a week later do like a 10% water change.

When ever it has this statement its bad advice.
When I first got the fish bug the guy at the LFS told me to buy the 6 gallon eclipse tank, boxed water, yea they sell 6 gallon of boxed water for $12, sand and rock. Come back tomorrow for the anemone and clowns. "The eclipse is nice because it has everything (9 watt bulb) built in."
I did not listen to him. Next time you have a problem come here and leave the fish store for someone else.

well the normal LFS i go to, the people are allways right. Its not a chain store its like a real store with people who know their stuff. The owner is a genius, worked for nasa and retired and opened up a store haha. I was used to trusting the advice from LFS even when i went to a chain.....baaaaaaaaaad idea

There is actually one store that I actually trust. But the owner is the former president of our local club FMAS.
The retailer no matter how knowledgeable he is trying to sell you stuff. He wants to make money.
