55 gallon refugium on 2 tanks?

I recently was given two 55 gallon tanks from a family member, and also was given a 125 gallon tank with stand and all from yet another family member! Anyways, its going to be a while before I can start the 125 up so I have began thinking of filtration first. My question is, could I start a 55 gallon refugium and use it to filter my 55 that is up, and also to filter the 125 once I get it started?

Yes. I have refugiums and sumps that run for more than one tank at a time.

I figured it would, but, I just wasnt sure if a 55 gallon refugium would be up to the task of filtering 180 gallons of water!
