Right now I have a 10gallon saltwater with 2 ocellaris clowns and 1 neon dottyback also with 7lbs of live rock and mushroom corals. I would like to get my 55gal set back up. I would like a blue throat trigger. Is a 55gal good size tank? If not could someone tell me what size tank is good? I have been told that they are not very aggressive. What are some good tankmates? :happyfish

3 fish in 10gl is a lot imo.
That trigger's not in my book, so I can't help you with that one. Ask on the aggressive forum if you don't get an answer here.

as long as you find a small one you will be fine for a while...I have a small female in my 55G...I figure she will be ok for a year or so...then I will upgrade...but short term it will be fine....mine doesn't bother anything...shrimp...corals...other fish...nothing! great little fish!

Bluethroat triggers require a 70 Gallon tank from what I have read but a 55 should be fine for a while. I have a Niger in a 55 and he's doing well.

They do require 70G but remember is for when they are full grown at 7"...I special ordered mine and got it small...the only disadvantage is its harder to --- them when they are small so no picking a male or female! I got a female! still great beautiful fish! If you do special order it, leave it there a week to watch it and make sure its healthy...these are shy fish at first and do get stressed out easily! :happyfish

triggers are agressive, so don't plan on housing it with smaller or passive fish...
