55g Protein skimmer

what would be a reasonable protein skimmer that you would recommend for a 55g tank? what about the instant ocean models?

Honestly, an I may get flamed for it. But I use a jebo on the back of my 55g. But i have modded mine to actually work. You are better off using like an Octopus or a berlin. 1 of the good brand names are always good. Remember it is always better to overskim then not to.

I reccomend the AquaC Remora series if you are looking for a hang-on. A little on the expensive side, but well worth it.

Do not get Instant Ocean seaclone.
If I were you I would look at these Hang on Tank Models:
Aqua Medic Turboflotor 1000 Blue Hang-On Skimmer
Warner Marine H2X with bubble Plate
Reef Octopus BH 300F Dual Hang-on-Back Protein Skimmer

if your talking about the marineland marine series skimmer they are alright. there are better out there for the MSRP of $200 but its doable. way better than seaclones, prizms and that level of skimmer. not quite up with octopus, vertex, aquaeuros which can be had for the same money. the larger model is not competitive with skimmers in its price range at all. $300 buys pretty good skimmers these days. if your talking seaclones the 100 is satisfactory for 30g or smaller tanks but I wouldn't but it on anything larger and its kind of noisy. many people say they cant get them to work well but I'm not one of them. mine worked all the time and pretty well (I have pics to prove it). its still an entry level skimmer. you wouldn't put it on an SPS or low nutrient tank. If your talking visi-jet, junk! save your $60.

I was looking for a little cheaper one i am just using this tank for a qt tank with a small bio load. I will look to turn it into a aggressive tank in time but that is after i get my 154 were i want it and i plan to change out the skimmer when i do that. any more suggestions
