About a month ago I upgraded my 29gal reef to a 55gal reef. I am hoping to stock the following fish. The only thing I have fish wise right now is a Zebra Moray eel. I have very good filtration and will be adding a sump (30gal) within the next few months. What does everyone think? should I get rid of anything? add anything? What order should I add these in? Thanks in advance

x5 Pajama Cardinal
x7 Green Chromis
x2 False Percula (Pair)
x1 Green Mandarin
X2 Flasher Wrasse (Pair)
x3 Zebra Dartfish

I have done allot of research on the eel. And allot of sites say 55gal is ok, as long as they can hide there full body. The eel is over 2yo now (I picked him up from the display tank of a LFS going bankrupt) So I don't think he is going to grow longer then he already his... Unless its sideways :). But ya, I will cut the fish down then. EDIT: The book I have says they rarely get over 3.3 Feet long

Zebra Moray eels can easily grow over 3' and up to 5' in length. While they are no as aggressive as other eels, they still need a large tank or they will become aggressive.
IMO, your current list is far too much for a 55G tank. Definitely needs to be cut down.
2 Clowns
3 PJs (they do better in odd numbers)
3 Dartfish
Flasher Wrasse pair
SKIP the Chromis - they tend to just kill each other. You'd be better off doing a harem of flasher wrasses (1 male, multiple females)
SKIP the mandarin. I would not place a mandarin with that eel.

Ok, I already dropped the dartfish. So do you think this would work.
Pair of Clowns
5 PJs
Flasher Wrasse Harem
I do want a school of smaller fish (like the green chromis), Are there any others that would work? I would just have the pair of flasher wrasses if that was the case.
Thanks
I just looked up the zebra, and they say they may be kept with "even the smallest of fish", would the moray potentialy eat the Dragonet? The Zebra eats crustaceans. I want to be on the safe side, but I do really want a Dragonet.

Dragonets are not a good idea with larger eels in my opinion. Dragonets, from my experience are kind of lazy and get themselves in dumb situations, I have had them eaten by anemones, etc over the years and so have other people. To play it safe, I would not do the mandarin. I know the Zebra Morays are unlike other eels in that they are far less aggressive than other morays and can be placed with smaller fish, but eels are opportunistic and the dragonet I think will end up as lunch. I wouldn't put any other bottom dwelling fish with it.
Have you considered any anthias? Great schooling fish. Look at Bartlett's.

Ok, thanks. I have looked at the Anthias. But I thought you need a 100g+ tank to have a school of them?

It depends on the anthias, etc. Some can be really aggressive and need larger tanks. Three Bartlett's would be fine. I'm looking at setting up a 55 FOWLR and putting my 3 Maldives Lyretails in there, they're going with more aggressive fish so I'm not too concerned.
