for all the power of the lifereef self cleaning venturi it doesn't clean out a whole snail...
That little booger went over the overflow, up some foam, all the way over that oceanic perforated tubing down down to the sump, into a mag drive around the prop up the intake into the skimmer and got lodged in the venturi. And he is stinking still alive, he didn't look like he got damaged at all.

I swapped return pumps in an effort to stop the cavitation that I've been experiencing from having a 90 on the return pump. It is probably stepping down to around 600 gphish as far a s return into and from the tank. But I don't think it is that much of an issue, if anything it will give the chaeto more time to do its job along with the skimmer.

How is your flame doing with the corals. Mine ate quite a few pieces. Didn't touch everything but found a few items irresistable!

I'm surprised the flame and the coral beauty don't fight in a tank that size. It looks beautiful.

Well after Ike, I lost most of my sps, my struggling candy cane is just about gone. And I lost my two angels.
I took everything out, and stuck everything in my friends frag tank. (he has a house generator) after my power came back on, I rearranged the rockwork, and put in the survivors.
One of the local fish stores, is offering 20% off. So I ordered some fish.
I've got a McCosker (hopefully) a purple firefish, and a green clown goby on the way. I'm going to pick the stuff up tomorrow.

What local store are you dealing with?
I also lost some items due to the power failure from IKE.
I have been buying from Aquarium World but they are a little proud of their prices. And not to mention diesel isnt cheap.

BAA on the south side, (I don't know if they are still offering it, he'd said on the reef forum till the end of september.)
I wouldn't buy anything out of aquarium world, their fish are horrible, and they are extreemly high. You should check out T&T on hwy 6 and fishland on westheimer.

I am looking up T&T on yahoo yellow pages and getting nothing. Where about is it? And BAA is the name of the other store?

Do a search for Marshreef, that is the local reef club. They are sponsors. BAA is a really small lfs, however the guy is in business for fun, (he's already made his money doing something else) so his fish are cheap and typically very good.
T&T is a bit on the expensive side, however with the marsh discount for being a member of the reef club, they are quite reasonable.
T&T is about 1/4 mi south on the west side of six south of the westpark. And BAA is Bay Area Aquarium they are on Bay Area Blvd. and 45. It is kind of hard to get there bc of construction.
