Is this going to be a reef tank or fish tank?
Also add in a protien skimmer, and might want to look into a sump if you can, canisters suck i used one for 4 months i still remeber the pain in the butt it was. I would have quit the hobby if i wouldnt have made a sump/fuge for my first tank ... now i have 3 tanks.

Fish and some inverts like a clean up crew and what not. Also another concern i have is for a quiet system as i am going to be sleeping in the room with the tank

ahh np then I would keep the canister on it then cause a sump no matter what generates at least some noise no matter what you do the canisters tend to be quiet. But id still get a skimmer of some type for the tank. And a 250watt heater you want your tank around 76-80 degrees so if you not in a warm region youll need one

This is more of a question than a suggestion, but is that enough sand? I've got 50lbs in my 37gal. But I only have about 25 lbs of LR too.
