60" VHO's

I'm upgrading to a 125 gallon tank that's 60" long. Initially I was looking at a smaller one that was 48" long and the lights I planed to go with were the 46.5" size. I thought that was great I wouldn't have any trouble fitting them into a 48" hood. But 60" seems to the Only option for the longer bulbs. How long will 60" bulbs including end caps actually be? Will I have to make my hood longer than it needs to be to accommodate them? Thanks.

If it's a glass tank and the Canopy hangs over the tank trim it should barely fit with the endcaps. I had 60 inch VHO bulbs in my Canopy but the tank was 60.5 inches since it was glass.
