65w PC or 48w T5?

Which is better for my 20g high? Both have two bulbs, one 10k and one actinic.
Current USA 48 watt (2x24) T5 OR Coralife 65 watt (dual-bulb) PC
My guess would be the one with the higher wattage, but I've been told that T5's do a better job of lighting the tank than PC's. So which is better? I would like to grow softies and LPS in my tank.
Thanks.

Of the two, the T5 would be better IMHO. But, I agree with NYCbob... better choices exist, particularly if you want to go with corals.

well they're both about $80... the good thing is I can purchase a second one later on if it's not bright enough. They're thin enough for two to fit above my tank. it's 20 gallons so 5w per gallon would be pretty good IMO if I got two.
What would be a better alternative for something in the $100-150 range?

t-5s dont put off the heat pc do.
pc replacement bulbs i believe cost more.
t-5 penitrate the water better.
t-5 better lumms per watt.
or just make it ease and go with metal.

I think I'm just going to get the 4x24w t5's. 96 watts should be enough for a 20 high, and if I get the 4x24w, it comes with moon LED's.

if each bulb has its own reflector than you should be able to keep a lot of different corals.

agreed, individual reflectors are a must. and they must be decent reflectors as well. don't go buying current's t5's... don't waste your money.

their fixtures are nice for the price. but their bulbs suck.

I think I'm going to go with the Nova Extreme 4x24w T5. It seems to be the most affordable, at a ridiculous price of $170

I don't get it. The Nova Extreme 2x24w T5's are $50. If I want to get a 4x24w T5, it's $170!!!!! Why is it three times more expensive for twice the lighting???? I may as well buy two of the 2x24's for $100 instead of a 4x24 for $170.
Why why Why???

Nick, I have both PC's and T5's on my 240 and I can tell you I really wish I had all T5's. Bulbs last longer, and seem to be "crisper" looking lights.
