Ju :jumping: :cheer: I was told it couldn't be done, but I just moved my PBTA, 2 clowns and a SFTang from Atlanta, Ga. to Pittsburgh, Pa. And guess what, MY PBTA MADE IT!!!! Not only did he make it He looks Fabulous!!! I know I may be a little premature with my celebration, we've been here for only 5 days but like I said it looks good and is spreading!!!

Everyone else is great too... My tank is really small (30 gal) So I took out about 15 gal of water and put it into 3 five gallon clean gas tanks. Then we just dumped about 5 more gallons. My husband and I carried the tank into the back of my truck (suburban). then I replaced the water into the tank. I have a power converter in my truck that I could plug my components into... Every time we stopped I checked to make sure my temp was good and if it was I put on the lights, if the temp was too low I would run the heat for a while. We stopped over night (for 6 hours) and then continued our trip... when we got to our new home I emptied the water back into the gas tanks and moved the tank to its new location put the water back in the tank and found a fish store in the area to buy ro water to top it off. Everyone in my family is so unimpressed... So thank you fellow saltwater fish enthusiasts for letting me crow about my move!!! I am so excited they made it!! Everyone that I had spoken with about moving my tank said it couldn't be done that I would lose my BTA!! I would rather mess up my 30k$ truck than lose my BTA, something is wrong with me!!!
Thanks!

Congrats!
I moved my freshwater tank from NY to IL and back several times. (Collage summer vacation.) I was always nervous each time it happened, even though I had a routine.

A great excuse for an upgrade, if you move it to a diffrent room of the house. Set up the new aquarium in a room already completed, move everything, then take down the old one.

With a two hour drive, you can take your time about it and do it right.
One trip days ahead out to pre-make new saltwater, one trip with tanks, rock and sand, one trip with livestock and old water. Livestock only spends about 6-8 hours in temporary housing, most of which is in a controled enviroment. (Assuming your plumbing setup isn't too complicated to put together in a couple hours, otherwise they get to camp out all night in the trash can.)
Everyone here will give you tips and procedures if you want.
