My tank has been up for 6mo:
@ 2mo I added a Lawnmower Blenny & CBS
@ 5mo 2wks added Brown Scopas Tang & Polup
@ 5mo 3wks added Yellow Tang & Mushroom
@ 6mo added a Sail Fin Tang
(Have been keeping 2-3 snails and 5-7 Scarlet Hermits)
When I came home tonight (6mo 2wks) my Lawnmower and Sail Fin were dead (and beeing disembowled by the CBS). My BS Tang looks to have ICH and my Yellow is doing the "Rock Scratch".
Tank:
50gal
2"LS
30lbs LR
Protien Skimmer
Penguin 170
2x PowerHead 401
I have been adding:
Kent's-
'Superbuffer-dKH' @ a rate of 2tsp 1x per week
Seachem's-
'Reef Strontium' @ 13ml (10 dropper shots) 2x per week
'Reef Iodide' @ 5ml (4 dropper shots) 2x per week
'Reef Calcium' @ 13ml (10 dropper shots) 2x per week
I have no way to hospitalize anyone....
Sugestions? Comments? Repremands?

Well, since nobody has responded yet I'll give it a shot.
I'd like to know your water parameters. Specifically:
Temp range
Salinity
PH morning
PH night
ALK
Strontium
Iodide
It has been my experience that Tangs usually only get Ick when stressed. They have very powerful immune systems but unfortunately when they are stressed it's the first thing that shuts down. I've found that if the stress is removed the Tangs will be healthy in no time without any meds.
Stressors that may be present in your tank:
3 Tangs in a 50 is going to cause stress. Normally not enough to cause an Ick outbreak but any tiny additional stress could push them over the edge. As the Tangs grow larger the stress level is going to increase.
Iodide. This is a POTENTIAL stressor. If you dose Iodine when the Iodide level is already high it can make your fish sick. A common mistake is dosing Iodine soon after a water change. Most reef salts contain a fair amount of Iodide and dosing on top of that can cause an overdose.
Food. Are your Tangs receiving adequate amounts of marine algae?
Fluctuations in PH and/or Temp.
HTH,
Guy

Sorry I couldn't relpy earlier, computer has been down.
H2O:
Ammonia: >0.25ppm
Ph: 8.4-8.6
Kh: 15 drops (I know 12-14 is supposed to be good)
No2: 0ppm
No3: >.5ppm
SG: 23
temp flux's about 78-81
Looks to me that the Ph & Kh are a little high. But I didn't think that any of these are too far out of line. Am I wrong? You can see above what I'm adding to the water, should I stop anything or do more of anything?
I don't know that Ich is what I actually had, but now both the remaining Tangs have cloudy eye's. The Brown Scpoas has gotten rather pale. The Yellow has gotten a kind of very light white "fuzz" on his body.
I have no way to isolate these guys right now, SO unless I hear something from someone today I'm going to take them back to my LFS for treatment (he's a great guy, and I think he would do it for me as I have no way to).
Remaining Scarlets, Turbo's & CBS all look very happy/healthy, as do both of my corals and all my hich-hikers.

Won't copper based med's be dangerous to the corals?
My Brown Scopas Tang made it to my LFS but he said it was too late. He gave me this stuff called MediFix (?), and sugested a 30%. I've ordered my RO filter and am picking it up in the AM to do the water change.
Will post back w/ updates.
