6Watts/Gal

i just figured out i have 6 watts per Gal of water in my tank and was wondering if thats enough... im almost out of room to add more lights if i have to....

It's really the quality of light more than it is the wattage. What type of lights do you have. Watts/gallon is just not all it's cracked up to be.

You are golden IMO. As long as your tank isn't some wierd 36+ inch deep thing. The 400's go down to 36 inches fairly easily while maintaining their 'brilliance'.

i agree that watts per gallon isnt really an accurate measurement, but it at least give the new aquarist a start at understanding light, and the role it plays in our tanks. i think you may be a little low on light bigjohn, what is the dimension fo your tank? you will more than likely be able to keep all variety of corals, but migh have to keep the one that need more light closer to the top!
