Just got my 75 gal tank. Going to set it up and start cycling in about a month. Will be reef tank with t-5 lighting. Still debating skimmer & sump/fuge
Fish -
1 - maroon or chocolate clown
2 - Firefish gobies
1 - Yellow watchman
2 - Small chromis/damels/gobies
1 - Mandarin Dragonet (Still up in the air - Will have 100 lbs LR but won't get unless I have a fuge)
1 - Heniochus Butterfly*
1 - Flame Angel *
1 - Yellow Tang*
*I know I probably can't get all three of the bigger guys, but what of those which would be good choices? I know some are not always reef safe...
Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

maroons are bullies- I would be worried about them being with the more peaceful gobies and what not- just my opinion. I wouldn't do the dragonet for a long time, at least a year, gotta give the pods time to populate. Damsels get mean also- I would try to go one way or the other, more aggressive damsels and maroon clowns, tangs, etc. or go the other way with the more peaceful ones you mention- again, only one opinion in a sea of them.

I'm not positive and I don't have my reference books with me at the moment- but I don't think they are much better. There should be others on here that will be able to tell you though.

I'd stay away from the Yellow Tang and probably the butterfly. They will get too big for a 75. I just added a flame angel to my 75 yesterday and I couldnt be happier with him. They are a gorgeous fish and will stay small enough to stay in your 75 for life.

The black and white percs should be a lot more peaceful then the maroon.

Thanks for the input! Is your tank a reef? I've heard it is hit or miss if they are reef safe.

I'd get a flame angel instead of the yellow or the butterfly. I also think black and white percs are less aggressive than maroons. They're beautiful, too.

I am on my way to making my tank a reef. I've heard that Flames can go either way. I have wanted one for quite a while though so I am taking a chance that it'll be OK. I am going to stick with mostly soft corals for now. From what I've heard they can get little aggressive towards LPS and SPS so I'm hoping that I'll be OK.

Bad advice IMO!

black and white clowns are not nearly as aggressive as maroon's. Don't get a butterfly very tough to get to eat and very tough to keep feeding. Yellow is probably going to get to big for a 75 if you had a 90 then maybe it would be different.
