hmm well if ur doing sps i would suggest cutting ur snail populaton in half and ditching the crabs, and harqulem shrimp. the crabs will irritate the sps and disturbe the sand. 50 snails will create a huge bio load and they will have alot of die off. for fish list i would suggest not doing a pb tank waht so ever. i wouldnt do n e thing on ur fish list besides maybe the mustard tang nd the gobies, and clowns. the tangs u could have in a 75 long term is this
chevron tang,kole tang,scoppas tang,purple tang.
angels in an sps tank-flame angel (if kept well fed and in great health he shouldnt pick at corals and if he does it will be a polyp), coral beauty, potters, flame back angel.
the hawks might eat ur shrimp.
gobys are a great addition to any tank as well as wrasses

Does disturbing the sand hurt the sps that much?

not alot but it does creat excess nutrients which sps hate. they like a high high current and low nurtiret waters, this is why some people sware by bare bottom because u can put tons of flow whrere ever without creating a sandstorm and also because you will have lower nutrients. also sps are so tricky because if somehting is off like example u stir ur sand up or something does one day, your colors will fade and it will take time for them to color back up. for beginer sps i would start off with some birdnest, and frags of monties. then u can move up to the acros.

MY 1st CB didn't eat much at all the first 3-4 days - it would only pick at the LR. That was kinda good though, b/c it rid my tank of the aptasia. I had to get the frozen mysis. That was all mind would eat thereafter. Unfortunately, a crazy mishap happened and it somehow got sucked into a 1mm opening on my PH - just was completely stuck and was dead when i found it...
The second one I got started eating everything that was in front of it the day it was put in the tank... you can never tell with the CB's - their pretty fickle...

hey slade - try not to hijack threads... but anyway - you can get the white plastic at lowes or other hardware stores - in the lighting section - they use it in light fixtures.

the lesson I learned was - first - I'm never going to get one again... second - if you do get one - get it back out before you add tons of rock. I could've got him out pretty easily when I only had 30lb of rock. But then I added another 90lbs and it was impossible...
my advice is to get him out before you get your tank nice and full - that's when it'll be a problem. BTW - my copperband was the one he picked on the most...
