Guys, please remember that by the OP asking questions, he's doing research. Not everyone researches in the same way. If you don't want to help, or are frustrated, just leave the thread. There is only so much advice to be given sometimes, but ultimately it's up to each hobbyist to decide what route to take, even if we don't all agree.

I say do it and see what happens and learn from your mistakes.
That's how I learned as much as I have...
I've done plenty of unconventional things that others say don't do. It's really just up to you on how much risk you want to take and how much money and life you are willing to waste.

how many times do you want to ask.
you can put one in a 180. sand only. no rock. external filtration. water changes every other day. a sump of equal size to the tank with live rock as a the filter.....
only other fish...maybe a shark.
you might get a year out of this set up.

Ok guys. I have made my decision. Tell me if you agree or not. I will buy the skimmers, new light, kits, water conditioners etc. There is a 300 gallon for sale near me and if i buy it I, that's a different story. But i don't think I will get the money in time. So, I will buy the necessary for my 75 gallon. I will also read books on Saltwater fishkeeping since it is a more dedicated hobby. I will wait for my water to cycle and have great water parameters. Then, I will choose the livestock. I will then purchase my Antennata Lionfish. I will study him and see if he is acting as a lion should. If so, after a couple of weeks, probably a month, I will purchase a Snowflake eel. I will only try to maintain these fish in the tank. After becoming more experienced I will know how the Saltwater trade is.
Thanks for the support, rude comments, and care.

We just want the best for the fish, your sanity, and your wallet, lol
Start small.. that plan sounds GREAT.. get good with those.. then in a year or when you can get the money together for something like a 300 (and have a place to put it,, just saying they are HUGE) and feel comfortable trying to tackle something like a ray,, THEN try it.. you really want to get a good grip on the basics before you invest and potentially lose thousands of dollars in one move...
