just as simple as the topic, 75 vs. 90. trying to decide, i know the 90 is taller, but same dem. i was thinkin the 90 because the dsb. will take up 5 inches and the extra height in the tank will make up for 5 in. taken up by the sand...
thanks for ne input.

Personally, i would go for the 90. More tank volume is always better, and i am not just saying that because its a big tank. Especially like you said about using a DSB. That will decrease the tank volume a little, as will LR, etc. Go with the 90 for sure. The only problem that may arise is lighting as this is a deep tank.

true, about the lighting, i have 440 watts of vho over my 55 right now. and was going to put that over the tank, just planing on keeping some low light corals, for now, i don't want to get haildes yet.

It is the old rule of thumb to always go with the biggest you can. My biggest regret is going reef with my 75 and not my 125. I feared the greater expense of the larger tank (lights, lr, etc) but after about $3000, what is a few hundred bucks here and there? With a taller tank you can really stack the rock high and make it look very cool. You'll have enough light for almost anything. 90!
