Im moving into a condo on monday and its on the second floor. I seen a post somewhere dealing with this kind of situation but where i plan to put the tank is against a wall and on the other side of the wall is the master bedroom. Im sure i should be fine but i know thats alot of weight i just want to get some assurance from some experienced reefers. oh yea it's also near a patio window will having some kind of natural sunlight hitting the tank will it have any negative or positive effects on my tank ( im doing FOWLR) for now i'll upgrade to reefs when i get the hang of everything. thanks

There shouldn't be any problem with putting it on a second floor. You just want to make sure it is level. As for being near a window, what direction is the window facing? What I'm asking is, does the morning sun or evening sun beat in through the window? If it does, there could be a problem with alge growth. If no direct sunlight beats in, you shouldn't have a problem IMO. Good luck!!

i dont know if this helps, but i have a 55g and mine is in my room on the second floor in my dormer (where the window pops out of the roof) , so its right in front of the window ( but since i have 2 other windows in the room, i got shades/drapes that block out all the light directly behind the tank). Before i got my tank upstairs, i asked my construction guy if it would hold, and he said that since its up against the wall, that it should hold up to a 150-200g tank. So i think you're alright!
hope that helped a little.

75g full shouldnt be too much weight unless the condos where built like crap,,,(less stringent building practices) other than that put some curtains up over the patio door/window if it does get direct sunlight.

Well it has the blinds where u twist to open/close. i mean not too much light comes in unless they are completely open.. but im excited i bought this complete setup over 2 months ago because it was a good deal, i've had live rock in a rubbermaid for a month i cant wait to finally put it all together

my 125 is on the 2nd floor
If you know which way the floor joists are running its best to set the tank perpendicular to them

your tank will not fall through the floor. I swear its legend. I have never heard of a tank crashing through a floor and Im sure neither has anybody else. The building should be inhabitable if there was a small chance.
