$39 bucks will supply me in zip ties for about the next 16 years
. I simply can't take the risk of these powerheads falling again, I used a very fine grained sand and it can get blown everywhere.

Major setback... I realized when I selected this spot in the house to place the tank that space was going to be an issue. There's simply no way to cram all this equipment under the tank with the size sump that I have. I could, but there would be no ventilation for the chiller as almost all 4 sides would be slammed up against something else and I'm sure the chiller would fry in no time due to excess heat buildup.
This totally blows, as I really wanted to have a huge fuge for cheato, but I think ventilation for the other equipment is more important. Looks like I'll have to yank out the sump and replace it with a 20g tall. Also cracked the mag pump housing putting the MRC together  There is no room under the stand for reactor, let alone the Co2 tank or the topoff basin...
.
On the positive side, I have a fully built out fuge but no tank, so looks I'll have to get another tank so that this fuge/sump doesn't go to waste  I'll have to put the spin of all spins on that idea in order to get another tank, come to think about it, now my needle wheel skimmer won't work in a smaller sump, maybe I can get a new skimmer out of this as well...
LOL sump is too big, if I can get another new tank and setup and a skimmer out of this, I deserve a Oscar for performace of the decade...
I'm off to that area in the back part of the garage where old tanks are retired
to see if I have a tank that I can use.
.
I should have waited for all the equipment to arrive before assembling everything

I really have no idea if the chiller 100% necessary, but I'll be running 2x250 and 2x96 lighting, plus the ballast for the lighting is going to produce heat, etc...Figure can't hurt.
.
Good news is that I found that blasted blue devil of a damsel that I lost several months ago, I had thought that my BTA ate him, which was not big loss.
.
I actually like this setup a little better, more room to work and can add some other items as need, possibly have a custom sump made to.
.
It's all a learning game as I go.

The foam blocks you see are temp, I'll make a plexi sleeve to fit around the pump so there is no MB's

I think it would be feasible running the tank without the chiller if your ambient temperature is reasonable (72 degrees F or less) and if you would be willing to mount a decent fan on the underside of the stand blowing air directly down over the water in the sump.
:joy:

But if I don't use the chiller, that means that I'll have a spare chiller just lying around without a tank, which would mean that I would have to get another tank to go with the chiller
OMG.....It would be a very slow and painful death if I didn't use the chiller, you have no idea what I had to do to get the blasted thing in the first place. Serious, my life depends on me using that chiller and all the other equipment.....

If that's a picture of your wife. I'd agree with you, take no chances. Just messing with you.
Have you found a place to fill the CO2 tank yet? If not, try a paintball or welding supply (product selling) business.

Funny thing about my avatar, I have an employee who we sware that if he was a woman, thats what he/she would look like....

.
I hope to get the tank filled this week and then replace the mag drive housing that I broke, then I'll start dialign in all the settings. Lights should arrive on Mon or Tue. I'll mount lights in the canopy and then everything should be complete. The starter corals were to arrive tonight, but I had to change the airline delivery to Sunday due to scheduling restrictions. They go in the QT, but the guy I'm purchasing from swears that his livestock is free of bugs, but taking no chances, goes back to my "slow and easy"

I may move all my other LPS's over to this tank, as I have a huge colony of frogspawn, hammer etc that I want to pull out of my softies tank.
The tank fully cycled about a week ago, I used fully cured LR and had a mini spike, so just to be sure I forced another cycle with some raw shrimp. Lights arrive a little later today (should have arrived on friday) Need to get the CO2 bottle filled and then it's pretty much done. Installed the autotop off lastnight and need to go get a container to fit under the stand. I'll post pics of the new corals later today.

so far so good but I did see one thing that may become an issue. Just something to watch out for. Since your chiller is in your stand I would watch to make sure that during the hot months when your chiller is kicking on a lot that you dont overheat your tank form the hot air comming for it. Seen it happen numerous times. The chiller should be outside of the stand in a well ventilated area.

Not too worried about ventilation and airflow, with the lights I also ordered 4x80cfm fans that will be another project. Here are pics of the corals. lights just arrived and will post pics of this project as well
