9.5 magdrive users, help?

Does anyone know what the little flapper does that is inside the head by the propeller? Mine was broken when I opened up the head to clean it. It seems to be running fine. Could it be for start up or just so the water has maximum pressure?:notsure:

Sounds like a check valve, but I'd be really suprised if they had one on a mag drive.

I just had my 9.5 apart and I am not sure what flapper you are talking about?

Hmm, I wish I took a pic.
Under the cover, next to the impeller, is a small piece of plastic. It's next to the output, it's like in the middle of it.
I'm not to worried, it is pumping.

mine's got one but I'm not sure what its purpose it, its not a checkvalve
