90 gal yellow tang

Ok, I am fairly new here. Been here about a month now. I have never seen people get so irritated as some do here. Especially over living conditions of tangs. Something to think about.
How many of you that constantly banter about tank size for tangs being to small in a rude way have a dog?.
Where am I going, you may ask? I am about to explain.
A few here are quick to jump on someone for not reading about or learning beforehand. While I agree this is a good idea, not all people are going to. If you truly do care, then help them out by offering suggestions within the means of this person and their set up. You needn't be rude and chastise them or demean them for their actions. They are here seeking help.
Ok, Back to the dogs.
You tang owners speaking of happiness and care for the tangs,
how many of you own a dog?
What dog food do you feed your dog? Is your dog happy on this dog food? I am sure you will say yes. I would even agree with you. But did you know the following:
Dog food contains road kill and euthenized animals. This is true. Look it up. Do you know what chemicals you are placing into your dog by allowing this? Did you know before the meat is prcessed into dog food it can sit in a 55 gallon metal barrel in the sun for up to two weeks. Take a piece of hamburger and try this. Then feed it to your family........sound good?
Only 3 dog foods available in the U.S. do not practice this.
Iams, Eukanuba, Alpo, Purino, and all of the other major brands operate under these circumstances. Now tell me. did you read up on the dog food you feed your dog? Did you plan on eventually moving your dog to a better food once they get bigger?
My point is, not everyone is perfect and shouldn't be yelled at for not being as knowledgeable as you on a subject, or for thinking their fish appear happy. I am willing to bet I could go off on 90% of the dog owners here for their dog feeding, but I wouldn't do that. Why? Because it is counter productive and turns people off to the point to where they don't care how valid your point is because you are rude and uncouth.
Besides, unless some of you actually can stick your head in the water speak "tang", you really don't know if a fish is happy or not. The fish could be swimming alot because it is looking for a way out for all we know......................

Good points Lionkiller.
But what are the 3 dog foods that have better food standards?
Do you know if it's the same story for cat food?

Solid Gold, Innova, and I can't think of the third. I don't feed my dogs dog food though. I follow what is called a B.A.R.F. diet for them or Raw diet. Much healthier.
Cat food is basically the same from what I have read......except more fish by products are involved. I do not own a cat so I haven't researched this as thoroughly. I probably should since we do groom cats in my shop.

As an animal lover in general and the owner of 2 dogs i am very carefull of what i feed my dogs(glad to see that i am not the only one:) ) funny you mention Iams as this is one brand i refuse to use not sure if you ever visited this site http://www.iamscruelty.com/ but i did very much enjoy reading your post and i appreciate the time you took to voice your opinion. As you said in your post we as humans can not tell if our beloved pets are happy or not and that was my point. I realize that i may sound harsh at times voicing my opinion (and it is just that, my opinion) it just gets under my skin when someone sais they have 3 fish in a small tank that could barely house one and announces they are happy.

I understand your frustration, but expressing your opinion is one thing, mocking the person is another. Mocking the person as I said just turns them off from any of your advise. No matter how sound it is (and your opinion and advise was sound IMO).

Your tank, your choice.
I can see both sides of this equation, but I won't take a stand at this time.
Instead I see this thread going where many of them do. So its time to lock it.
Let it go and lets get on with reefing.
