Tommorow I am going to buy a 90 gallon Pre-Drilled All-Glass tank with Twin Flow overflow system. It costs $190. Then, I have to get the Overflow accesory kit which includes the standpipe, plumbing to and from wetdry/sump/fuge whatever for $30. I currently have 2 powerheads totaling 300gph and a SeaClone 100 Protein Skimmer I don't plan on replacing. What else besides sand, LR, and inhabitants do I need to have everything I need. I don't want to buy a Calcium reactor, UV sterylizer, or RO/DI system.
But what kind of lighting do you all recommend I get?
Can the most hardy mushrooms live under (NO) flourescents?
That is as far as I want to go with corals.

the way it usually goes is that after you get what you want at first, in your case shrooms and algae, then you want more and more. If I were you, I'd just go ahead and put together a VHO lighting system. If you can't afford the retros, buy the parts seperate (bulbs, endcaps, mounts, ballasts) and mount to your hood, if you have one. This gives you more room to grow before you need halides.. Now I'm no genious here, but I think that even if your mushrooms would live in the NO lighting, they would flourish better with some more light, and look better.

You forgot to mention a couple of heaters, two to match up to the rated wattage for your tank. Also I tried to keep shrooms under NO several times and they shrunk up an pooped out on me. I would go with VHO or PC, not only would it give you an opportunity to put shrooms in, but other softies as well when you start getting the fever. Also, I feel that they are much more asthetically pleasing.
what are you going to use for a return pump.
