I paid $399 for a 110gallon tank/stand/lights. It was all perfecto brand.
My LFS sells the tanks at wholesale price though.. I guess that is what traps everyone in to saltwater.

I paid $0.00 for my 90 gal. already set up with ls and lr... well really it's not mine.. taking care of it for a friend for a few years... but it was a nice cheap way to get into the hobby... looking at buying a 150 or 175 to put in the wall...

I would check to see if a fellow reefer is selling thier setup before spending that amount on just the barebones of a tank.
You can get decent setups with filters and sometimes lights too for the same price you would pay for that basic tank.
Check the forums and check craigslist in your area.

I have a 90 perfecto w/ built in corner overflow and the pipes paid $290 at LFS. No lights or top or stand. I use egg crate for the top.
I also checked into a 90 all glass with single overflow and it would have been $325 with the overflow tubes being an extra $30 or so.

I know the feeling about not using a top. I am forced to use one because my hawk fish loves to jump out of the tank. he has taken the big drop several times and has survived. plus my crabs kept getting out of the tank.
Now, i have a cat. open top not good with cats.
