I am looking to build a 90g reef tank, I want to start building the refugium and have a couple questions. I am looking at getting the Coralife Super Skimmer Protein Skimmer 125 basically for it's size and have it in the first section of the refugium, in the second section have the live rock and plants, and in the third small section the return pump. Does this sound like a good set up? Is the Coralife Protein Skimmer a good choice?

Hello, and welcome to the site!
I had (it's now a seahorse tank) a 90g reef tank for over 8 years...I also had the Coralife skimmer...it was hands down the absolute worse skimmer I ever used. It overflowed, it clogged up,and it wouldn't skim unless you TWEAKED constantly. I hated that thing and wouldn't recommend it to my enemy.
I now have an Octopus XP 1000sss cone skimmer and it's awesom,e the stuff it pulls out of tank is disgusting, so I highly recommend that one. I the Octopus in the first section of my refugium as well.

So going with the skimmer in the first section, fuge in the second and pump in the third is the best way? Also is there anything I need to consider when making the size of the sections? My plan was to have just enough room in the first for the skimmer and have the outlet going in the bubble trap, and just enough for the return pump in the last leaving most of the room for the fuge. Does that sound right? Also are the Echotech pumps worth the investment?

Hi,
I don't know about the pumps, if you mean power heads or a return pump....I use the Eheim brand for the return pump and I have Seahorses so I use Seiko power heads now because they don't have openings to catch my horses tails in.
When I had a reef I used the Koralia brand power heads, three #3s and one #4. I have heard great reviews on the Ecotech brand and if I had the money when I had a reef...I would have used that brand in a heart beat....but I had the others and they worked just fine.
I really like the 90g, not too large and yet plenty of room to do some nice corals. You have to post some pictures when you have it all set up.
