I Had A Clown Trigger- Lion -queen Trigger -and A Miniatus Grouper..all 6" And Bigger In A 75 Gal With Great Filtration...solid Water Changes..for 2 Years.
its a 92 gallon corner tank. this would not be a permanet home. I would get all 3 fish when they were smaller.. probably only be in there for about 1 and a half or maybe 2 years tops...

you have any pics of that tank? 4 fish 6"+ in a 75g, I'd like to see. and can you also expand on what "great filtration" you used? like just a big skimmer or what equipment did you have?
personally, the 92 would be fine if all the fish are small to start, and i mean SMALL. 2 years isnt alot of growing time for a trigger, but i dont know about puffers or lions?
The puffer and trigger would be fine for quite a while, and neither of these fish would be considered a good tankmate for a lion as they tend to nip at lions fins and spines. As for a volitan lion they are very fast growers a 4" lion would easily hit 10"-12" in 18 months time with proper conditions.

Thanks for all the answers everyone... the lionfish is the fish we will be getting for sure (its the only fish my woman wants) so what will be some other cool looking fish that would be good tank mates with a lion.
thanks again guys!

No pics...that was about 10 years ago.
75 gal with little rock work...Eheim 2215 and an Eheim 2217 very large Americal air driven skimmer and an Aquanetics 15 watt UV sterelizer.
Water changes 20 gal every other week.

well you do not have to get a volitan i agree they are very fast growers you could get a dwarf lionfish such as a fuzzy dwarf radiata green fu manchu lionfish
You could do one but all three is asking for issues . Me personally I would get the trigger . But if the wife likes lions thats a good way to go too . Keep her liking the hobby and you will get more out of it .
cool thanks for the answers.. We will be getting the Lion. so what are some other cool looking fish that would make good tank mates and live good in a 92gallon?
