as far as lighting goes i did run helios 20K 250 HQI bulbs but i just switched to Phoenix 14K's.... they are really nice bulbs and have a similar color to 20k's but with a stronger PAR reading
WHAT KIND OF SALT DO YOU USE?

hey there sinaloa.... i use an asm-g4 skimmer and i have lots of flow in my tank it keeps the sand pretty clean...
i also do 30g water change every 2 weeks with ocean pure pro salt
triga22 ... i actually do have a yellow tang in there somewhere :joy:
ill take some pics in a few of the filtration and stuff and post what ive got going.....

awsome tank. wish i had room for something like that. What did you do to rid youeself of the algae?

to get rid of algae i used to have a lil hair algae in my 100 i just ripped it all off by hands and then i added a lawnmower blenny and he keeps the rocks clean....
i battled a lil cyano in the new setup so i used chemi-clean and i also have a diamond goby now that sifts the sand....
i dont really have any other algae in my tank all seems to be gone now
well here is some pics of my equipment
first is my sump area.... where my sump has a lil area i made for cheato algae using a HD light fixture it grows really good.... i have an ask-g4 skimmer a uv filter i run carbon 24/7 i have an auto top off system to refill with fresh ro/di water.... i have my dual chamber MRC calcium reactor with 10lb co2 bottle pin point regulator and solenoid with dual guages... i have my return pump down there to its a pan world 100px-x and my closed loop pump is behind the sump so thats hard to see but its a sequence reeflo dart
the next pic is of my lights right now i only have 2-250W Phoenix De 14k bulbs in PFO mini pendants and a Pfo HQI ballast... i also run some PC actinics for dawn and duck efect.... u can also see my Oceans Motion 4 way in the center which is that grey drunk thats where my closed loop feeds to and it opens and closes 4 of my returns in the tank for a random flow....
next is the back of my tank which is all the CL plumming i have 2-1" holes in the middle back drain to a single 2" T down to my CL pump then straight back up a 1.5" pipe to the OM 4 way then split into 4 different 1" returns

whats not in picture is my chiller and my battery backup system in case of power failures

THATs a lot of equipment... I only have a 5 and a 15gal set up atm. i'd hat ti imagine trying to get mini versons of all that. would a Uv sterilizer be a good idea for this little things? Or for my new 20 long i plan on starting sometime. And lawmowers are too agressive for that small of invironment. You knwo anywhere i can get a two spot blenny or seawead type? those are the ony two mini blennies i know of.

Bojik... yeah tell me about it it is a lot of equipment more than i thought i was guna want... and i still want more now!
about the blennies yeah lawnmowers need alot of rock since they rarely eat frozen foods so i wouldnt get one of those.... the other 2 i really dont know about so i cant help u out there sorry!

Fishcake thanks for the nice words! i am still guna add another dozen or so sps in there and another MH setup
