These star polyps were actually hitchhikers on a zoo frag....they look excellent under actinics, and I'm trying to get them spreading.....it started as a single polyp, and we didn't even notice them until there was about three or four.

I just like this shot because it is my green shroom with the most color, and the most glow....very little light, and it seems to have made this guy look a lot better than the ones in the open. The lights just came on...

This shot I like because for years I had those tiny white dusters in just about all my tanks.....I never even realized they had color until I got a close up....when looking at the tank, they are so small that they just look white....very common, and I'm sure 90% of people have them in their reefs.

My cardinal.....I like this one because he was peeking out just enough to let the actinics hit his head, and it gave a nice effect.

Those are some sweet pics sammy!
It makes me want to break the camera out later today and see what I can find. Good job.......I really like the exposures of the darker ones........creepy in a good way.
Thanks for sharing. :)

Thanks Rye.....of course coming from you, I consider that a real compliment. BTW things are slowly getting back to normal, and I am sending you some mail Friday. This is a shot of my powerhead....why a shot of a powerhead you ask?? Because I simply love the way equipment can blend in after awhile and become as live as the rocks and sand....

Now that is a cool shot! I can't wait until some of the stuff in my tank looks like that.
Remember: Take your time. :)

Hey Rye, I don't know why, but I always seem to like the darker ones better. I think because they tend to black out the background and focus on a single subject, and they often come out clearer since it is caused by my turning up the shutter speed. Here is my clownfish (false perc) getting lost in his leather coral...when the polyps are fully extended....you can barely see him in there sometimes.:) Thanks Lisa.:)

Sammy, what do you feed the jaw fish? I had one for three days and still not feeding on brine. L8TR

LuvMyFish, thanks.....quite a nice compliment! I have been keeping saltwater for about nine years, and I still suck at it.
:) Learned 95% of everything I know starting a couple years ago when I found this site. Before that, I had a tank full of hair algae and a single book for info that was SERIOUSLY outdated. Funny, I didn't even realize how terrible my tank was until I got online and started seeing others tanks.:) :) People not into to saltwater would come over and were impressed by my clown hosting in the three inch long hair algae, and my yellow tang with his lips so red from nitrates that they were about to pop....that I thought it was good.:D Thanks again.....photography of tanks is pretty tough, and that makes it a lot more fun.

poiboy, mine eats almost anything I put in....brine is the normal food, but he eats mysis as well. They are very shy reclusive fish, so it may take a few days. Make sure he has the materials (sand, small rubble, etc.) to build a home that makes him comfortable. Small rubble being the most important in my experience. Once he is calm and feeling safe, hopefully he will eat.
