1. Use a Gfi breaker at the panel instead of at the receptacles ,The cheaper gfi's trip during a power outage and if your not home its a bad day for the fish
2.In tight places you can cut pvc with kite string I know this sounds crazy but it works
3. Pay attention to k ratings on metal halide lamps, and stick with a reputable brand if you buy a 10 dollar lamp on an auction site be prepared with a spare mine lasted 11days
4. Drip loops in cords are very important for the safety of you and your fish salt creep happens faster than you would think
5. Goby's jump twice as high as youd expect,if yours is missing check the floor
6.All true saltwater hobbyists will help anyway they can ,but remember be patient not everyones ideas are the same,so listen to them all and decide which works best for you
.Buy the best you can afford or someone will be buying your stuff on eb** so you can afford to buy what you wanted in the first place
8. Last but not least enjoy yourself remember this a hobby not a full time job everything comes around with patience and timeand all the work you put in pays off ten fold when your done
