a filter for multiple tanks

Hi guys
I hope you can help, pretty soon we are going to be having multiple tanks in our basement and I was wondering what sort of filtration system we can use for all the tanks so that we don't have to buy seperate filters for each of the tanks.
thanks in advance
Nicci ;)

Having the same filter or sump for all the tanks is a good idea and in some cases can be cheaper BUT one thing to think about is where your going to pt such a large sump and how you are going to get the water there. Another thing is if for some reason one tank goes bad like somthing toxic dies then your whole system goes down with it.

You would be better off keeping the tanks seperate with each one having it's own filter setup. If they are small tanks,a small hang on one would be fine. You can also use one or two skimmers. And rotate them from tank to tank.Kepping it on each tank for a day or two, then switching it to the next(after a good cleaning).

if youre concerned about the financing on separate pumps, may i suggest online auction sites, every bit as good as the new ones.
