Great picture, Cranberry! How often do you feed him and what do you feed him? Do they have to have "live" food or will they accept meaty foods that are already dead?

This guy is SO tiny. He's in a 3g pico and it looks like he is a 100g. He'll be there until I convert him to frozen. I only got him today. Here's a pic with my finger in it so you can see how small he is.

Right now he is eating live feeder shrimp and guppies. He'll be converted onto what the rest of them eats which is a mixture of clam, squid, silversides and krill and will get fed on Mon, Wed. and Friday.
He will go to a bigger tank when he's converted and completed his 6 weeks QT... or when he gets bigger. He's too small to go in a regular tank just yet.
Oh, he's a pictus and these are his juvie colors. He's listed in a couple of places online as being a commerson but they are wrong. He is classic juvie pictus. He won't change within the next year. They are attractive adult fish as well... you just don't know in what way until they change. This guy is about an inch... maybe less. I kid you not.

Great looking angler, what will you be putting him in with in your DT? Sometimes they can be difficult to keep with faster fish because they don't get enough food.
Awesome fish, good luck!

No, but I know the ones you are talking about and they are the same fish. I believe they have them ID'd as commerson.... but their juvi pictus. They won't get near the size of a commerson.
I saw them 2 hours after I bought the other... for nearly double the price *rolls eyes*

The angler went into the 3g pico because he will be a loner. The leaf went into QT because he will be joining another fish... need to do the cootie check first :)

Don't anglers have a very low servival rate? Just wondering. I love those guys I wish I coud have one. Are they complicated to take care of?

You have to be careful in how they are handled. This isn't a fish I would buy off the internet nor from a dealer who I don't 100% trust their handling skills. Outside of that, it's out of our hands.

Call them and make sure they don't net him up but that they should cup him.
It would be cool if you got one too....
That store has a good name around town.... that's one good thing about living over here.... my fish miss the extra trip.
