This is what I did to cure the issues of microbubbles coming from the bubble defuser box when using a coralife super skimmer HOB.
Like everyone else when trying to run your coralife super skimmer full blast to get a good skim, I had a ton of microbubbles being pumped into my tank from the bubble defuser box. So I just made my defuser box bigger.
I got my hands on a large specimen container. The clear box that fish store use to dip out fish. I then proceeded to put a thousand holes in it. There are alot more holes in it then this picture shows. A soldering iron was use to make the holes.
I then stuffed it with filter floss.
And then placed in the tank as simple as that. You may have to adjust the filter floss to keep it from trying to float. I put a small chunk of lr on top of the floss to hold it down
So far no microbubbles and I really dont think I will have any again. The only problem i can see is if the box over flows. That can be solved with more holes. It worked for me. I hope it can help out some one else.
