A goby suicide story

My Goby jumped out of the tank last night, and I did not find him in time. He is really dead, thats forsure. I feel really depressed. I guess my question is what can I put for a bottom fish, that will play with substrate the way that he did. I am getting a plastic piece for the back of my tank tomorrow.

That sucks bosco!
That happened with my diamond back too. The top of my tank was wide open though, so I had it coming.
I think you have the right idea. Block the escape route. A glass lip around the top edge helps if you go open top.
Alternatives might be a fighting conch or something.
I liked my Goby too.

I would try another goby. What kind did you have? I have an engineer goby, and they're great, to paraphrase Tony the Tiger. They get about 6-8 inches in about 3-4 months, with proper care, and they're really cool to watch. HTH
