This piece was purchased as a drab looking brown monti digitata over a year ago...it sat in the 55 forever and never grew much and maintained a brown coloration...since adding it to the new display the coloration has drastically improved and its grown considerably. Anybody wanna ID this for me? I'm thinking some type of encrusting monti...but I'm not sure....I do know it never looked this good under the 4x65 PC's&2x110 VHO's!!!

Not to over take your thread
I just got 400 watt ushio today. How did you reclimate your tank inhabitants with your new light. I went from a 250 10k ushio to a - to a 400 watt ushio.

Going from a 250 to 400 shouldn't be that big of a deal. Except for any corals that are only an inch from the water surface, beyond that it should make little difference.

I'll work on getting a full tank shot in a little while...the dimensions of the new tank are 60"x19"x20"...with a 20 gal sump and 55 gal refugium...total volume is about 170-180 gal.
As for adjusting corals to the lighting ...in my situation the corals where in the old 55 with 4x65 PC's and 2x110 VHO's...after they were re-located to the new display with 2x400 MH's and 2x110 VHO's I left the VHO's on a 12 hr schedule and reduced the MH's to 4 hrs daily...then weekly increased the MH's a hr until they were on for 10 hrs daily...some sorals didn't respond well at first but they have all adjusted now.
Mark....kind of you to keep us SPS deprived New Mexicans in mind....*_+
The wife says we gotta go out to eat in a few...I'll try to get a full tank shot up this evening.......:sleepy:

your montipora looks very similar in color to some montopora digita frags I got from bangguy, your's appear to have a flatter appearance and thicker branches but mine are still under 4", on of my frags did have a flat elongated look to it with two tips on each end

I'm actually workin' on a 12 pack of Budweiser...and I doubt that I'll be getting anymore pics ready this evening...but here is a somewhat decent full view shot. Its rather difficult to capture a good full look with my camera...but this will give a idea of how it looks...
