Hi
I have a 125L / 30G tank i was wondering if any one can help me on the pumps,,, i was given a free pump buy the people in the shop which is not very good and from what i can see the Hydor karolia pumps seem to be the best but im not 100% which ones i should be useing as it depends on your tank, please find a list of the ones which i can get and if some one could let me know which one would suit me the best it would be very much apprciated
Koraluia 1 1500L/H
Koraluia 2 2300L/H
Koraluia 3 3200L/H

In my opinion I would go with 2 of the #3 karolia powerheads. pretty much with any tank you want to have enough flow so that you dont have dead spots (no flow) because algae has an easier time growing in the dead spots. also with good flow when you feed your fish the food will stay suspended in the tank longer so that the fish can eat it or your filtration can catch it before it settles in your l/r or the tank bottom. hope this helps, good luck

i dont know what type of tank i have as im from England and i have never heard of your type of tanks is called a Fluval Roma 125 (if that helps at all)
Does any one have any hints on how to not have dead spots as im finding it hard to find a way round this is, there certain places where they should be or better places than others!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At present i have one in the top right hand order nearest the back of the tank, the problem i have though is i dont want the thing to look ugly, at the moment beacuse i have a none marine tank made into a marine i have pipes and pumps and filter tubes everywhere and i want as little things as possible, also would any one think having a back ground on the rear of the tank is a good idea as this will hide most of my stuff,,,,
Also my clown just looks at him self in the tank as the glass turns into a mirror in the tank form the wtaer reflection ( if you know what i mean,,,) Is this normal?????????
Sorry for the amount of stupid questions im new and im finding using this site a lot more helpfull than all the book i bought

painting or having a background is very common for the reason that you stated above. as for having the deadspots you will just have to work with it, but more than likely you won't be able to get it all covered. the type of tank is what was being asked and by this they meant do you want fish only, fish only with live rock or a reef tank. you did answer this question tho in your last post. good luck and welcome to the board

if you use the 2 #3 karolia powerheads you will find that you have an easier time getting rid of dead spots. they are a really great powerhead that provide a large area of flow. you can have one on the back wall of the aquarium pointed towards the front glass of your aquarium and I have also read of people pointing 2 powerheads at eachother. all I can say is I am very happy with the ones I bought, I also had a hard time with dead spots but not anymore. as far as having a back round on your tank I think that its a great idea to hide cords and such and it just looks better all around. It would be hard to paint the back of your tank if you already have water and live stock in it. Personally I dont like the back rounds that have pictures on them so try to just go with the ones that are a solid color. I have also heard of people using window tint that you would use on your car.
