That was the plan! I know how Tizzo hates to cook so by the time the potatoes reached her they were to be so mushy all she had to do was heat them! The salsa (one of the busted jars) was the flavoring and the mold was simply to provide her penicillin in case she got stung by a jellyfish and it became infected...

haha welcome to the boards! Sounds like something my gf's dad would do, he is from Wilkes county btw. You only lost one jar out of the entire package? Amazing.

Welcome to the boards!!!! You tried. Seriously, what was up with the potatoes though? Potatoes actually keep really well if they are cool. It looks like bottles of your homemade goodness were smashed. That is probably what was leaking. The corn was a bit much though

Well, everyone I know HATES packing peanuts so I was trying to think of something creative, "useful" and yet still part of what we've been up to. I guess I still haven't adjusted to sending things to a different climate than the one I'm in (you weren't supposed to move so far, T!). If I had to wager a guess, I'd say that the jars breaking is what started the whole sorry mess. That got the potatoes wet and then add in the FL heat, eww!! The corn, well, I know how T's hubby does the whole grilling thing and I wanted to make sure he felt included. Guys tend to whine if you leave them out.....?? That pkg. really was completely embarrassing!!! The whole knowing you sent one thing and something totally different arrived!!

He's such a cutie.
On a side note. I tried all the preserves that I preserved and after way to many english muffins, I love them all!! I went for a hot dog to put the ketsup on, but I didn't have any thawed... NO DON'T SEND EM! LOL..
Oh and for the record, USPS stamped "fragile" on the box, but even more than that hickchick here, put her own hot pink labels all over it.

"The preserves that you preserved," huh? Haha. Glad you liked what you found. It sucks the strawberry broke, it was more of a syrup and is great on pancakes.
Too bad you hosed the box though, you washed away the ritzy seafood dish I was hoping to include. I keep hearing on the news about that food thing "Salmon Elah." I figured it ranks up there with escargo and the experience would be a memorable one. Didn't want you to feel left out....
