Hi I've been keeping saltwater for a few years but never a fish tank as big or as mean as this one will be. I would like to keep these fish in a 125g
clown trigger
snowflake moray
queen angel
hummu trigger
yellow tang
Is this way to much for a tank like this? Also what kind of filtration should I get I'm thinking of building a ecostem, what do you think? thanks guys
p.s. also if I tropped the trigger could I keep cleaner shrimp with the eel, what about snails, and hermits

i am by far no expert, i'm actaully in the same boat as you- with a 200g tank. i had two snowflake morays. they are great eels, plenty of personality. I'm sure someone has already told you about protecting the openings of the tank, one of mine made a break for it, and ended up lost behind my 30g tank for a while. i'm not too sure about keeping shrimp with them though. my snowflake eats everything, or i should say, ANYTHING. if it fits, he'll try it. I've even seen him grab my sailfin tang during feeding time by the head and take him for a ride. They are ruthless. I would make sure he is one of the last ones in, definitely AFTER the tang and angel. Good Luck!

take out the angel and the tang unless you want to do a peaceful tank. tangs and angels need totally different care and much better water conditions and specialized foods unlike agressive fish. if you got rid of the triggers the snowflake would eat the shrimp, no inverts except trochus snails in a predator tank. i feed my fish live feeder shrimp once in a while and my snowflake loves them. you will need a sump which will cost around 200 dollars i think. a protein skimmer and several powerheads would be good. you could keep the clown and humu, a snowflake, and probably two more fish in there such as large wrasse, hogfish, puffer, a small grouper such as a blue-line, or maybe some squirrel fish. good luck on your tank, bo

actually i think that the would be a ok set up, the only thing i am worried about maybe would be a queen angel, try a passer angel or known as the king angel, they are aggrssive enough, i have a yellow tang in my tank, and he is great, really timid tho, but he is a great fish, clowns are great, but once they get large they will become rather mean, my suggestion would be to g et them all the same size, except the yellow tang, maybe all like 2 inches and the eel like about 7 inches, of course for all these messy eaters you will need a powerful filter and live rock (well lots of it) if your still looking for suggestions in my 125 i have a harlequin tusk, awesome fish, 6 inch yellow tnag, 8 inch golden puffer, 3 damssels, and a clown trigger and a niger in a 20 (he is mean) , another suggestion would be to drop the angel thing all together and get a tusk, so maybe a tusk, huma trigger or a clown trigger( i dunno about two triggers in that size tank, i made the mistake) a snowflake eel maybe some kind of puffer. well thats what i would do , i hope i helped.

I'm thinking now going for a 180g tank with this fish list
yellow tang
harliquin tusk fish(I just saw one today, the prettiest fish I've ever seen)
clown trigger
humu trigger
snowflake morey eel
one more fish maybe?
I've also seen alot of tangs with triggers ext. usually with the tang being the king of the tank with his knife tail. I'm also planning on adding a refugium so I can feed the tang caulerpa all the time.
