as many of you know, ive been going back an forth on different tank designs and what not for quite a while now, only to have my gf's mom nix the whole idea of an aquarium. well, we decided to do a pico, but, after looking at the ones on the doctors site an several others, ive decided to take the sump we were given, its an HOB style that i have yet to figure out LOL and cut it up and build said pico, with my gf's dads help
so, this is the start of everything
here's the sump now, and come tomorrow, we are cuttin this bad boy up, she's made out of what im gonna say is half inch plexiglass, so ill have a very sturdy lil pico

thats what the sump looks like now, and just wait til tomorrow, she'll be cut up quite good LOL
im cutting 3 pieces thats gonna be 12"Lx8"W thats the base, and 2 sides, and then 2 pieces at are gonna be 8"x8", thats the front an back and if there's enough left over, im gonna do another box for a sump/fuge, just like rotary suggest, thanks JR

Sounds cool, but why not just get the Tom Deco pico? It is like $40 and comes with a filter and lights. Just a thought.

eh, i had to do something with this sump, its not good for anything for us LOL and i cant sell it so, why not make use of it, besides, i needa get my feet wet with building tanks, since i plan on doin it for a living
besides, it will be a lot sturdier than the toms deco kit

is the tank gona be acrlyic? if so then you dont use sylicone. to hold it together. you would you i think the name is weld on #4 for acrylic. sylicon willnot hold onto the acrylic.

yea im not 100% sure on the company name i think its weld on but i know that it is #4. its gonna be kinda messy. i used once before and didnt really like the stuff cuz one wrong move and you will see it forever. it basically mets the acyrlic together. so if you get a drip on the acrylic in a spot you dont want it you will see it forever.

but, we're gettin ready to head into town now to see about finding that weld on #4, and for a filter, im just gonna do an ac20 filter, its what was recommended to replace the one that comes with the toms deco kit 3, so thats what imma use lol

nice... my light suggestion hahaha..
Try to find some good reflectors to jam in there too to maximize the lighting.
