For some odd reason..in my 29G tank....the front glass has been covered with itty bitty copepods all week

I clean them off with the mag float...and a few ours later it's covered again...
this is not a new tank, I know this is not a bad thing, just curious as to why all of a sudden this is happening....

I kinda think thier spawning goes in some sort of cycle. I see this alot on my tank. sometimes there will be just 10-50 on the glass and then othertimes they are so numerous its like looking through a dusty pane of glass

I know they are not bad Burrito.....I was just commenting on how odd it was that they were multiplying this way....the tank is almost 2 years old

It happens sometimes. My 110 would go through cycles like that every couple months....and I had 2 mandarins in there to "control" the population! When it first happened I felt bad when I swiped the glass...felt like I was killing off all this wonderful Mandarin food. By the 2nd or third "cycle," I didn't really give a darn anymore. ;-)
What fish are in your 29g? I don't really remember right now.... anything small that will consider the 'pods as food?

I read about the Chalk Bass, and I was sorry to hear he didn't make it. IMO, as with Spanko, I don't think you killed him....he was just too weak from the disease and lack of food.
Chalk Basslets are indeed really beautiful little buggers....in fact you can see them (or a VERY similar species...) down here just by snorkeling around the near-shore patch reefs just a hundred yards off shore. They like to hide in the rock and glare at you.

Back to your 'pod explosion....since you have the scooter in there, I doubt that you're ever going to have a total copepod infestation. My guess is that this will clear up in a week or two, and you'll have a very fat little scooter for a while in the process.
