If you think someone's other achievements somehow make up for the evil they do you are misguided. nk

If you like his music, fine. If you think he didn't molest kids, fine, he was never convicted. I only objected to the idea that his "mistakes" would be forgivable because of his music. We be cool.

Lord please give us back Patrick Swayze and take Roman Polanski. Him and MJ need each other.

MJ is a very talented artist and did wonders for the music industry. He WAS cleared of all charges against him. He is INNOCENT until proven guilty. Isn't that the law. I don't believe he did anything wrong. Famous people all the time settle out of court on charges that aren't true.

Jordan Chandler even said after MJ's death that he lied and his father made him do it. People lie to get money from famous people.

Big difference between innocent and found not guilty, OJ ring a bell?. Jackson wasn't right in the head, we know that for sure.

You know I worked for 10 years in our state's abuse programs. Foster care, protective services, etc. I was very good at IDing pedophiles in particular. While MJ had some significant behaviors that are very similar to pedophiles, there were other attributes that he had that actually make me question "whether or not".
He certainly was inappropriate in his choices regarding child visitors to his home, and seemed incapable of seeing any problems with this--even after the ordeal of trails and accusations. It may be in time that some light is shed on the matter. His own children certainly would not have been spared if he was a child molester.
Bottom line, the book is not closed on this one, and neither is their a definitive GUILTY regarding MJ.

I agree. MJ put himself in circumstances that didn't help him in his life (ex. having kids sleep in his bed). Most people would distance themselves from circumstances that might look shady or not normal to people.

That's just it. I've always questioned why the big settlement in that first case. It wasn't to keep it quite because the accusations were out there. As far as his own children I would say the life they were forced to lead was pretty close to abuse. Always felt sorry for them. Most celebrety kids don't have it all that easy but some of Jackos actions with his kids were over the top, and thats just the stuff we know about

Yes, I think time will tell as these children get older, or when they become adults. More questions answered in the years to come, I think.
If his "wrong decisions" entail pedophilia....then no matter his greatness as an artist, there is no making up for it.

But why did the prosecution offer to settle out of court. IF, and it's a big if, the prosectution had solid evidence that would convict him 100% without a doubt, why would they settle out of court? They wouldn't

Plea bargins are standard proceedure unless you have an iron clad case and not many are. In Jacko's case part of his deal with the kid in the civil case was he couldn't testify in the criminal case. POOF!, criminal case goes away, they lost their witness. California actually changed their law because of that deal.

It was he said, he said. No pictures, no witnesses. So, it wasn't solid evidence as in pictures of sexual abuse, or witnesses, etc. I think if there had been solid evidence, the state attorney would not have offered a plea based on the sensation and high profile of the cases. There was money involved, and shady family members, greed (I'm sure) so there was and remains a lot of big Question Marks. MJ was his own worst enemy. And yes, his obsession with secluding his kids to the point of totally isolating them is a reflection of his emotional, if not mental, issues.
