A question about LR

I have 12 pounds of live rock and about 25 pounds of rock that used to be live, but now is dead.
I have been told that the dead rock will become "live" again in about 6 months. What types of things will start to grow, besides algae, on the "dead" rock?

That depends on what is on the live rock you have added to the tank.."STUFF" won't just majically appear in your tank,or on your rock..It must be introduced to the tank.So whatever you have on this "new" rock will eventually be on the old rock...

yah, the some of the critters on the new LR will maove to the old LR and it will be live again probably after a long period of time though

you are better off using that other rock as base rock and buying some high quality LR to seed the tank and use as the rock people will see.
