A question about sumps

Hey i have a 75 gallon tank and a 20 gal sump, i was wondering i have to add water like every month and just wondered if thats normal?

Aside from water changes, I add water to my 30 gallon tank once or twice a week because of the evaporation. I'd be happy if I would only have to do it once a week.

I recently plumbed a 38 gal with a 10 gallon sump.I use a mag9 return pump and have to add water every 2-3 days otherwise the sump gets low and the pump starts to make noise.Just remember to top off with fresh water,not salt water.

I only have an 18 gallon via aqua, but I have to add .75 to 1 gallon a day or so.

A couple of gallons a day... and I agree with Kip, it's good for the tank and allows me to add more kalkwasser.

so you just get the pickling lime at a grocery store?

and the kent aquadoser where would you find that at? the 5 gallon?

Kisspass after mixing the Mrs wages pickling lime can you just add to the tank or do you need to let it sit some time or skim off any residue?
