Well I have a couple of questions. First of all I had to register a new name so I could post this message it said I dont currently have permission to post in this forum. It has been like this for two days. Whats the deal??
Second, I just set up a 10g refugium. I put in LS and southdown and some LR rubble and the water and it has been sitting for a couple of days with no light or circulation. I just put a little filter on it and now it stinks  I figure something died like algea on the rock or some of the bacteria in the sand. Is this a problem or will it go away and will it be safe to start the plumbing of water to my main tank?? Thanks for the help

I'm not that smart, but some people have called me a wise guy if it helps! :D
How long has your main tank been up? How big is it? I think miminmum would be to empty the water out put on some lights and fire it up. You will propably have a cycle though. Hhmmm. The more it sits the more will die, if you fire it up- a cycle. If your main tank has been up and you got alot of nice stuff, I wouldn't chance it. Rince the sand and rock. If your tank is new, at lest change the water. Sorry it really depends on the main tank. Give some more details so we can help more.

Well its a 46 gallon with 4 inch DSB and about 10 pounds of live rock(with 25 pounds curing in buckets) and it has been going for 3 months. I dont want to risk anything I am just wondering if I should dump out all my water in my refugium and rinse everything then reset it up and plumb it into my tank?

I had to register a new name too. Perhaps I made a comment about one of their competitors and they erased me. It's like the Gestapo....

what was your old login?
the reason you got that message is more than likely because admin5 busted you for a rules violation.(posted anything about other websites???) you must not have a static IP, so it let you re-register, cuz its an IP ban.
I would not advertize this too much. the rouge reef shark can still have you for lunch.
i am speaking from experience.

its not like the gestapo, they have the right to set rules and expect us to abide by them, if we dont we get axed. remember, they are doing us a favor here and we should not bite the hand that feeds us!
think before you post!

I made sure to not say any names of any other sites but I probably was too close for comfort for them. My old name was Necteau. Also (I dont know if I will be kicked for this) but when i emailed them asking them where my order was and other info they responded in probably less than an hour or so but when I emailed them saying the LR they sent me was all dead when it got here and I wanted to talk to someone suddenly no one was answering emails. Its been a week and I have sent numerous emails to no avail. Whatever!

Anytime you buy,or ship live rock you take a chanse of dieoff.IT HAPPENS...If you were not aware of this prior to buying it,hate to say this, but it's your fault...Then blasting the company that sent it to you was your second mistake...I also agree that the smell in the refugium is probably from the rock...You should just put a powerhead in the tank, and let it circulate till it is recured...Or put it(the rock) with your other batch of rock you allready have curing...Then start up the refugium and let it run without rock, till the rock is ready.

if the rock was not shipped overnite, then yo would have to cure it, just because their is die-off on the rock, does not mean you did not get good rock. I have , with this one exception, only heard great things(and seen good pictures) of SWF's LR. orry you are so bummed. but things have a way of working out in the long run.
but i would be careful not to bite the hand that feeds you....if it were my board, I'd boot you for saying that. You might find the response differenly if it were handled more diplomatically.
