Yes you should!!! My 20 was my first ever SW tank, I always had a problem with nitrates using CC, and after I made the switch to LS, the nitrates were 0, and they still are to this day... :D

I'm not quite sure what type of sand your talking about aragonite maybe? But, you don't have to buy 100% LS, you could do somethng like 75% dead sand and 25% LS. I'm not really sure on what types of sand to use, LOL, I have beach sand in my tank. I big no no I found out after I did it. So thats why I consider my sand "live." I'm sure the others here can give you a better reply though... :D

o ok thanks live sand is just a little too expensive. I don't need that much live sand if any for a fishonly tank do I??? Or does it just help out in the longrun to get it.

I would go with a 4'' DSB. I think that would be your best bet. I would highly reccmmend a DSB for ANY tank, as it will keep your nitrates at a minimal lvl. You don't really have to buy that much LS, you could do the 75/25(maybe even make it 90/10) and add a little LR. Over time(say 3-6 months) the entire sand bed will become live. :D

Easy, Rinse you tank out the best you can. Dont use any chemicals as the residue can kill fish easily. Freshwater organisms cant live in saltwater so any you miss will die off.
rinse or boil then dry out your freshwater gravel and store it for later.
