He is a chump, I watched him play for the rangers and I could probably count the times he dove on one hand. He just didn't care about the game, I don't know what drives him

there is no technical skill to hitting a baseball...its hand to eye coordination and the ability to recognize spin coming out of the pitchers hand...the only skill position in baseball is the pitcher...
I couldn't disagree with you more. There is a lot of techinque to hitting a baseball in order to optimize power and for placement. Being able to go the opposite way with a fastball on the outside of the plate is more than just hand to eye coordination. There are a lot of minor things in a swing to worry about too. Like have your weight balanced between front and back feet and your lead shoulder flaring out, exc. There is much more than just standing there swinging a stick.
All I'm saying is that in football if your mechanics are a little off you can still make the plays based on your natural ability whereas in baseball if your mechanics are off, you'll be whiffing and walking back to the dugout hanging your head. Or walking everyone and hanging 'em high in the zone where they'll wind up over the fence. There are plenty of pitchers with natural ability but don't do well because they can't hit their spots. Kyle Farmsworth throws 100 mph but always gives up the long ball cause he lacks in control due to mechanics.

On the flip side of your argument, look at guys like kenny rogers and jamie moyer. They throw like 80 mph, but they are consistant or were, 10 or 15 games winners, heck a couple years ago kenny started the all star game. It isn't the talent that makes you good at baseball, there are plenty of guys who throw 100 mph but there are even more guys who can hit that. It all depends on where you put it.
I used to work on the grounds crew for the Rangers, it was the funniest thing in the world to listen to these guys talk smack about kenny only to watch them walk back every step an F bomb after they whiffed on a 80 mph fast ball.

In basketball, high school playing can go straight to the NBA and blow it up. In football, college is as big if not bigger than the NFL. In baseball, you get done with with school and stay in the minor leagues for years before you go to the show. It may not require such feats of brute strength and atheticism, but it is extreemly difficult and requires much more to master the game.
have you caught a 98 mph ball??? i have tried to hit one, but it was from a machine... dont you think its a little harder to throw that 98 mph fast ball while back peddling with 4 to 7 200 to 300 lb monsters coming at you... all the while a guy running his 4.3 40 yd is trying to catch it with some one in his dish??? yup i can sooooo see where youre coming from...

Yes, quiet a few of them actually.
Each sport requires different skills. I do feel, although I'm biased, because I love baseball, that baseball requires the most skill, not that I'm advocating high salaries for just ball players. The reason I say baseball is harder is this, you can be the most physically gifted person on the field. And still not success at a high level in baseball. While you can have the talent of a average joe but be able to put the ball wherever you want it and be successful. There are alot of people with more talent that Kenny Rogers and Jamie Moyer sitting at home watching the game. (Like my friend who used to throw 98 mph) But they can put their 82 or so mph fastball wherever they want. And throw a change up and curve wherever they want. They are successful. With baseball it isn't just talent, with most other sports that is enough.
My left thumb is to this day 5 or so years later still about 1/3 bigger than the right one from little fractures in my left hand.

I really don't understand your argument here. Pitchers have to be much more precise with their throws than QB's. For QB's there's really 2 kinds of throws. Lobs and bullets both of which are thrown to an area of a couple of feet. Pitchers have to hit the corners of a few inches while rotating their wrists in a very unnatural motion. What does a 4.3 40 have to do with the argument? We established that football is more physical. Does it take skill and technique to run a 4.3. Yes but it is mostly natural talent. And yes a pitcher could throw it 98 from the pocket. Probably harder. . . .hence the crow-hop.

I agree, he is not a gamer, I'd rather have someone who plays like this is the last game he'll ever play. Than someone who is saving himself for something.
