My husband and i went surf fishing today, he caught a nice size blue. after we went walking the beach .. the water was somewhat choppy and it was high tide.. you wouldn't beleive all the interesting critters we saw.. Of course I love to take pictures, and just had to take some. I don't know what these things are though. Anyone got any ideas on whats in the pictures ?
all of these things were found in the seaweed which washed up on shore..
the white shelled critters were stuck all over this quart siae bottle of water that had washed up on shore.. there must have been about 50 of them.. we pulled a few off and stuck them in the shallow water to get a picture of them.. should have taken the picture of the bottle.. lol..

You've got some sort of algae, maybe Enteromorpha. The white shell things are Goose neck barnacles, Lepas. The small clam is a Coquina, Donax, basically full grown. Then you've got what seems to be a scaleworm and another type of polychaete. And also a clump of encrusted things...some coralline algae, maybe some sponge and sargassum.
Thanks for sharing your walk!

I had a picture of the ocean too... but with the wind kicking up.. it came out real blurry.. next time I get better pictures I will post them.. Usually a walk on the beach brings forth some relaxation and beauty of nature.. but this is the most I've seen of tiny marine life in one walk.. I thought it was pretty cool.

When I was down in Florida I found 4 separate puffers alive and well washed up on shore. I also found an eel of some sort. Can't remember what kind but it was pretty interesting.
