A worm or snail ID

I am fairly certain that it is a worm and not a snail, but i need to know if i should take it out....but i dont have a digital camera.
Its found on the sand bed in between my HUGE lta and closed brain coral. I've seen the worm "hit" both corals with no effects from either yet, but i am concerned. It built a tube out of the pieces of sand in the sand base. A long time ago I found a similar tube and crushed it thinking that the sand just was "stuck together." The tube itself sticks out about 1/2 inch from the bed. The worm was out yesterday and was at LEAST 4 inches out of the tube. It has no bristles like a bristle worm and looks very pliable and soft. Its about 1-2 mm thick and resembles the color of a light earth worm. It looked smooth rather than segmented. Any ideas?
