? about my Clarkii Clown

If I leave the light off in the tank for a day when I turn the light on my clarkii clown is upright in my fake plants and looks dead, his color is poor and everything, until I put food in and turn the light on then his color returns and he swims out. He is in there with a striped damsel and a royal damsel. Is this a defense mechanism?

Most of my fish fade in color at night. I believe it is part of their defense mechanism. Clowns can do some strange things, so I wouldn't be worried.

Yeah, he's only sleeping...
One person on the boards (can't remember who) posted pics of their clown while asleep... Laying flat out on the sand. Looked totally dead!! LOL

tizzo - mine does that as well... the first night i had him i thought he was a goner!! I was so worried about him for like a week..
3.5 years and two tanks later he is doing the same thing.
